Martin Perez Aiming To Stay In Form Tuesday
1 year agoTexas Rangers pitcher Martin Perez is looking to keep the good times rolling as he takes on the Detroit Tigers Tuesday night in Arlington. The left-hander allowed six earned runs against the Tigers in Detroit on May 30 and another seven against the Rays in Tampa Bay two starts later but has since tossed 13 innings of four-run ball with just seven hits and four walks allowed over his last two starts. The veteran enjoyed a resurgent season that included a 2.89 ERA in 32 starts in 2022 but he has regressed to a 4.38 ERA this season, a figure right in line with his 4.43 career mark. His 5.11 SIERA continues to be worrisome moving forward but he has a solid matchup on tap against a Tigers offense that ranks 22nd with a .307 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season.
