Martin Necas Scores 10th Goal In Friday's Win
5 years agoCarolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas buried his 10th goal of the season as his team defeated the visiting Arizona Coyotes 3-0 on Friday night in Raleigh. The talented rookie lit the lamp on a highlight-reel individual effort with just 10 seconds remaining in the second period - finishing a wrap-around on his backhand to provide the Canes with an important insurance marker to make it 3-0. Necas also contributed a plus-one rating, two shots, one hit and two blocks while skating 16:16 in the winning effort. The 20-year-old is really starting to come into his own as the season has progressed, having registered a point-per-game (four goals, five assists) over his past nine contests. Despite the recent hot streak, Necas is likely just an option in very deep fantasy leagues at the moment, but fantasy owners would be wise to keep an eye on him throughout the second half.
