Martin Jones Projected To Start Tuesday
1 year agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Martin Jones is the projected starting goaltender for Tuesday's game against the visiting New York Rangers. The veteran puck-stopper is coming off of a shutout in Saturday's 7-0 blowout of the Pittsburgh Penguins while he also picked up a win against this same Rangers team in his first start as a Maple Leaf last week in New York. He has put forth a tidy 1.85 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage in his first three appearances (two starts) in a Maple Leafs uniform. He joined the team as veteran depth in the offseason and has posted a 3.37 GAA and .870 Sv% across five games with the AHL's Toronto Marlies. With Joseph Woll injured and Ilya Samsonov continuing to struggle, Jones could see some increased playing time moving forward and makes for a solid streaming option despite a tough matchup on Tuesday.
