Marshawn Lynch In Talks To Return To Seattle
5 years agoFree-agent running back Marshawn Lynch said that his agent, Doug Hendrickson, has been in talks with the Seattle Seahawks on a potential reunion. As usual, Lynch isn't expecting much and is said he'll be fine if a reunion doesn't happen. The bruising back turned 34 in April after unretiring for the second time before Week 17 of last season to help a Seahawks backfield that was decimated by injuries. Lynch had 30 carries for only 67 yards and four touchdowns in three games to close out the season. Chris Carson (hip) and Rashaad Penny (knee) are coming off season-ending injuries, so Seattle could be looking for another veteran back. Still, even if Penny isn't ready for the start of the season, the Seahawks drafted DeeJay Dallas in the fourth round, still have Travis Homer and undrafted rookies Anthony Jones and Patrick Carr. At best, Beast Mode would be a low-end, touchdown-dependent RB3/flex if he returned and injuries struck the backfield hard again.
