Mark Stone Files For Arbitration
6 years agoOttawa Senators forward Mark Stone was one of 44 players to file for arbitration, announced on Thursday. Stone is coming off a three-year deal that carried a $3.5 million salary cap hit and is likely due for a raise. He tied for the team lead in points (62) with captain Erik Karlsson, two points shy of his career-high 64 points set in 2014-15, but he did so in 22 fewer games last season. Stone has now scored 20 or more goals in four straight seasons and is relied upon by his team to spark the offense. With Mike Hoffman’s recent departure from Ottawa, Stone is far and away their best option on right wing. Hoffman’s trade also increases Stone’s fantasy value, as he should unquestionably get first-line minutes and power-play time.
