Mark Melancon Pitches In The Seventh Inning Tuesday
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants reliever Mark Melancon pitched a scoreless seventh inning Tuesday against the Marlins. With closer Hunter Strickland landing on the disabled list, Melancon was thought to be the front-runner for the available closer roll in San Francisco, but he looks less likely now that he was used so early in the game. Melancon could still be in the mix for saves, but he has to compete with Sam Dyson, who has the most recent save, and Will Smith with his 0.90 ERA and 0.70 WHIP.
