Mark Kastelic, Ridly Greig Placed On Long-Term IR By Senators
12 months agoOttawa Senators forwards Mark Kastelic (ankle) and Ridly Greig (lower body) were placed on Injured Reserve on Thursday. Kastelic has missed the last eight contests due to a high-ankle sprain suffered early in a 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 2. Prior to his injury, the 24-year-old was held pointless with eight shots and 21 penalty minutes across nine games. As for Grieg, the 2020 first-round pick has also missed the last eight games due to a lower-body injury. The 21-year-old was off to a strong start with two goals and seven points in nine games along with 18 shots on goal. He was seeing increased ice time in the games leading up to his injury and is averaging 14:18 of ice time for the season. Both long-term IR designations are retroactive to Nov. 3.
