Mark Canha Slight Chance To Return This Weekend
3 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Mark Canha (hip) will run and play catch on Tuesday. Depending on how he progresses, the 32-year-old has a "slight chance' to return for this weekend's series against the Rangers. He's been sidelined since June 25 with a right hip strain. Canha received platelet-rich plasma injections in both of his hips recently and continues to progress well in his recovery. He is slashing 255/.375/.450 with 11 home runs, 55 runs scored, 33 RBI, and seven stolen bases in 325 plate appearances in 2021. Canha's 4.29 average pitches seen per plate appearance ranks third in the American League. Tony Kemp will continue to handle leadoff and center field duties while Canha is sidelined.
