Mario Hezonja To Sign With Portland

The Portland Trail Blazers and free agent forward Mario Hezonja have agreed to a one-year minimum contract with a player option in the second season. Hezonja was the fifth overall pick in 2015 but has promptly become an afterthought in the league. He spent last year as a Knick, playing 58 games with 24 starts. He shot just 27.6 percent from three despite entering the league as a promising shooter, scoring 8.8 points per game and adding 4.1 rebounds. Portland is lacking some depth on the wing, which could allow Hezonja to see some playing time while Nassir Little adapts to the NBA, but he shouldn’t be on anyone’s fantasy radar at this point except in the deepest of leagues, as there’s a good chance he winds up playing even less than he did as a Knick.
