Mariners Acquire Domingo Santana From Brewers
6 years agoThe Seattle Mariners officially acquired outfielder Domingo Santana from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night in exchange for outfielder Ben Gamel and minor league pitcher Noah Zavalos. Santana was the odd man out in Milwaukee's outfield last year, but he's two years removed from hitting 30 home runs and driving in 85 runs. He hit .265 with only five long balls and 20 RBI in 85 games in 2018. Santana's power bat will have much more value in a starting role in Seattle, and he'll be a target as a late-round sleeper in mixed leagues. Gamel hit .272 in 101 games last year but started only 69 games. He'll primarily come off the bench in Milwaukee, severely limiting his fantasy appeal. Zavalos was an 18th-round pick and went 5-2 with a 3.09 ERA in 19 appearances at Single-A.
