Marcus Stroman Says He'll Make His Next Start
5 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman (hamstring), who left his start early with hamstring tightness on Wednesday, said "I'm going to make that start against the Cubs on Tuesday." Stroman hasn't been quite as effective in his four starts since being dealt to the Mets (4.58 ERA) as he was with the Blue Jays earlier this year (2.96 ERA in 21 starts), but he has a 3.18 ERA and 1.30 WHIP on the season and remains an effective starter in mixed leagues. Stroman just doesn't strike out a ton of hitters (117 K's, 45 walks) in 144 1/3 innings. He faces a tough matchup in the Cubs next week and will be a little more risky coming off his injury.
