Marcus Semien’s Leadoff Homer Sets Tone For Jays
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien took Chase Anderson's second pitch of the game deep to spark the team's offense to a 10-8 win over the Phillies on Sunday. It was his ninth bomb of the season as he finished the game going 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBI. Since returning to the leadoff spot at the beginning of the month, Semien has hit .346 over the last 12 games, helping him to keep padding up his counting stats. The 30-year-old is now up to 23 runs and 23 RBI with seven steals in his first season with the Jays, giving managers more than enough to cheer about a month and a half into the year.
