7 months agoMinnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract extension with the Wild for the 2024-25 season. The 39-year-old contemplated retirement following the end of the team's regular season but decided to return for one more year. The 2024-25 season will be his final campaign in the NHL. "I've been asked a lot by fans, media, friends, what's next for me," Fleury said. "It's good that this is settled and I don't have to talk about it for another year. Next year will be last also. Excited to get this done." The veteran turned in a 2.98 goals-against average and an .895 save percentage across 39 games (35 starts) in the 2023-24 season while his 561 career wins sit second all-time.--Brenton Kemp
