Manny Machado Not In The Lineup On Saturday
1 year agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Oakland Athletics. The veteran third baseman has been in and out of the lineup over the last six games while dealing with tennis elbow in his right arm. So far, he's been able to manage the issue with the occasional day off and that routine will likely continue until the regular season wraps up. Machado has also been playing through a hand fracture that he suffered back in mid-May, so it's been a tough season for the 31-year-old. He's still put up a decent .250/.314/.455 batting line with 28 home runs, 84 RBI, and three stolen bases over 508 at-bats. Matthew Batten is filling in at third base in Machado's place and batting eighth against hard-throwing rookie Mason Miller and the A's.
