6 years agoThe San Diego Padres agreed to a 10-year deal for $300 million with free-agent shortstop Manny Machado on Tuesday, according to a league source. The Padres stepped up and landed one of the top free agents this year in Machado, who will play third base for them. The talented 26-year-old hit .297/.367/.538 with 37 home runs, 107 RBI, 84 runs and 14 stolen bases and is a first-round fantasy talent. However, landing in San Diego and pitcher-friendly Petco Park will turn some owners off. What is certain is that the Friars left side of the infield with Machado and shortstop prospect Fernando Tatis Jr. will be intriguing in the seasons to come.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
