Manny Banuelos Lands On Injured List
6 years agoThe Chicago White Sox placed starting pitcher Manny Banuelos (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a left shoulder strain and recalled reliever Jose Ruiz from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. It'll be Banuelos' 13th career trip to the injured list, which is obviously not a positive. However, both Banuelos and manager Rick Renteria are confident that the pitcher won't be out for long, and he could wind up missing just one start. It won't be Dylan Cease, the team's top pitching prospect, who takes Banuelos' spot in the rotation. Ross Detwiler could be an option to make at least one start, or the White Sox could go with a bullpen game. The 28-year-old Banuelos has a 7.26 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 32 strikeouts in 32 innings. He's not a must-hold in deeper mixed leagues.
