7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Mallex Smith had a performance Monday versus the White Sox that shows off what he is capable of. He went 4-for-4 with a double and a triple. Smith also stole two bases. He nearly doubled his season batting average. Smith drove in a run and later scored the eventual winning run for the Rays. Smith relies on his speed for his offensive value, and he displays skills that allow him to put the ball into play in situations where his speed helps him reach base.
