Malcolm Subban Shuts Door On Columbus
4 years agoChicago Blackhawks goaltender Malcolm Subban posted his first shutout of the season in Thursday's 2-0 win over Columbus, improving to 3-1-1 for the year. Subban, who recorded 27 saves against the Blue Jackets, had a very rough start to the year when Tampa put five pucks past him on opening night, but he has since stayed undefeated in regulation, allowing two or fewer goals in three of four outings. Kevin Lankinen, who is 8-3-3 for the year, is the undisputed starter in Chicago, but it's a busy season and Subban certainly hasn't hurt his chances of getting more playing time. He could feature again over the weekend with the Hawks having a back-to-back set versus Detroit, and they also play on consecutive nights against Tampa next week.
