Maikel Franco Considered Day-To-Day
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles third baseman Maikel Franco (ankle) is out of the starting lineup on Friday but is considered day-to-day after X-rays on his ankle came back negative. Franco was injured on Wednesday but could return to action as early as Saturday. The 28-year-old has picked things up of late, going 9-for-27 (.333) with four RBI and five runs scored in his last seven games, so the timing of his injury wasn't the best for those that roster him in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. Franco has an overall slash line of .221/.265/.376 with nine long balls, 27 runs scored and 42 RBI in 309 plate appearances in 2021. Domingo Leyba is playing the hot corner and hitting seventh on Friday against Los Angeles Angels right-hander Griffin Canning. Leyba has only three singles in 17 at-bats (.176) this season and isn't a recommended DFS play.
