Magneuris Sierra Could Make The Team
4 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Magneuris Sierra could make the team as a pinch-runner and defensive replacement. The 24-year-old is out of options, so he must make the team or the Marlins will risk losing him on waivers. “We think there is a role for a guy who can steal a bag on this club right now,” manager Don Mattingly said. “A defensive replacement.” With the expanded rosters to start the season, it's a fairly safe bet that Sierra will be on the Opening Day roster. He has shown some flashes of possibly developing fantasy relevance, but he'd need consistent playing time for that to be realistic. He'd contribute in batting average, runs and stolen bases if given the chance.
