Madison Bumgarner Yields Five Runs In No-Decision
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks pitcher Madison Bumgarner allowed five earned runs on five hits and five walks while striking out five across six innings during Friday's 6-5 loss to the Seattle Mariners. He did not factor into the decision. The southpaw was hurt by the long ball and surrendered home runs to Mitch Haniger and Jarred Kelenic. The 32-year-old also walked a season-high five batters on Friday. Bumgarner owns a 4.52 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 106 strikeouts across 123 1/3 innings in 2021. The 31-year-old is set for a rematch on the road against the Seattle Mariners. Bumgarner can be used as a streamer in deep-league formats but should temper expectations as the left-hander has now allowed five earned runs in back-to-back starts.
