Madison Bumgarner Secretly Competes In Rodeos
5 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner has been competing in rodeo competitions under the assumed name Mason Saunders. In December of last year, he won a team roping competition with a partner, earning $26,560. He also competed in a rodeo competition last March, a few days before pitching in a Cactus League game. In 2017, he bruised his ribs and sprained the AC Joint in his left shoulder in a dirt bike accident. The Diamondbacks just signed him to a five-year, $85 million contract, so you can plan on them looking into his extracurricular activities. He’s coming off a solid year, striking out 201 batters over 203 innings while maintaining a 3.99 ERA. His value has taken a hit in the move to Arizona due to the fact his home/road splits in San Francisco were dramatically worse away from Oracle Park. He remains on track to be the Opening Days starter for the Arizona Diamondbacks, but fantasy owners will want to keep his off-the-field interests in mind.
