Luke Voit Signs Minor-League Deal With Brewers
2 years agoFree-agent first baseman Luke Voit signed a minor-league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Voit will join the Brew Crew after spending the 2022 season with the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals, where he hit a combined .226/.308/.402 with a career-low .710 OPS, 22 home runs, 69 RBI and 55 runs scored in 568 plate appearances and a career-high 135 games played. The 32-year-old right-handed slugger should have a good shot to make Milwaukee's Opening Day roster as an option at designated hitter and first base. The 2020 home run champ has had two down seasons and isn't hitting homers at the clip he did in the shortened season with the New York Yankees. Voit will be worth looking at for some power in NL-only leagues with limited playing time.
