Luke Voit Becoming Quite The Clutch Hitter
6 years agoThere is no longer a discussion about the starting first baseman for the New York Yankees. That would be Luke Voit, who continues to become an instrumental part of the offense as they struggle without Aaron Judge. On Tuesday night in Oakland, the club went hitless through five innings, but eventually still prevailed, 5-1. Voit, for his part, recorded just one hit from the eighth spot in the order, but it was a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old had become quite the clutch hitter, as five of his seven home runs with the Yankees thus far have either tied the game or given them a lead. Across his last 15 games, Voit is hitting .362 with seven home runs and 13 RBI, blowing past Greg Bird as the primary starter.
