Luke List Disappoints at the U.S. Open
6 years agoAfter missed cuts at the U.S. Open in 2003, 2005 and 2007, Luke List had to wait 11 years to get another crack at the event. Unfortunately, the 53rd-ranked golfer in the world failed to make the most of his opportunity. Thursday's opening round of five-over par was a bit misleading. List spent most of the day near the top of the leaderboard until his round came to a screeching halt on the 13th hole. List bogeyed the 13th hole, triple-bogeyed the 14th hole and bogeyed the 17th hole en route to shooting a 75. Not being able to bounce back from the errors the day before, List's round on Friday started just as Thursday's round left off. When all was said and done, List shot a seven-over 77 to miss the cut by four strokes. The 33-year-old American is in this week's Travelers Championship field and makes for a volatile option, albeit one with massive upside.
