Luke Gregerson Officially Placed on the Disabled List
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Luke Gregerson was officially placed on the disabled list with a hamstring strain on Wednesday. The team made the move retroactive to March 26, but Gregerson isn't expected to be ready until the middle of April. Gregerson had a rough spring, first dealing with an oblique strain and then suffering a hamstring strain almost as soon as he returned from the oblique injury. Gregerson was expected to serve as the team's primary closer, but relievers Dominic Leone, Tyler Lyons and even rookie Jordan Hicks will get save chances, and if one of them excels while Gregerson is out, there's no guarantee Gregerson get his ninth inning back. Leone is the favorite to get the first chance and should be added in most leagues if he's available.
