Luis Severino Whiffs Seven In No-Decision
8 months agoNew York Mets right-hander Luis Severino allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings in Saturday's 9-6 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. Severino did not factor into the decision. The 30-year-old had a bases-loaded walk in the second inning for his only earned run of the game. He cruised through the rest of his start and was in the line for the win until the Mets bullpen imploded by allowing five runs in the eighth inning. The former New York Yankee owns a 3.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 13:2 K: BB across 10 innings in 2024. Severino will look to build on Saturday's solid start in a tough matchup on the road against the Braves on Thursday.
