Luis Robert Tearing Cover Off Baseball In Minors
6 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert, the team's No. 4 prospect and No. 39 overall per MLB Pipeline, is off to a scorching-hot start with High-A Winston-Salem this year. The 21-year-old Cuban has a .524 average, four home runs, two doubles and 12 RBI in just five games and 21 at-bats. Despite the hot start, the White Sox don't plan to move him up to Double-A Birmingham just yet. Robert's tools might be major league-ready right now, but the team is taking it slow with him after thumb injuries limited him to 186 at-bats and 50 games in the minors last year. He does have 30-30 potential with raw power and speed, though, and could become an outfield regular by 2020. Stash him in dynasty/keeper leagues.
