Luis Robert Headed To IL, Done For Season
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (wrist) was placed on the 10-day IL on Saturday with a sprained left wrist. The wrist has been bothering Robert for quite some time, as he originally sprained it on August 12 and has played in only 15 games since then. With the White Sox falling out of the race, they wouldn't want to push their star outfielder in meaningless games. They maintain that the injury in just an issue that needs rest, so he isn't expected to undergo surgery and should be ready to go for next season. Overall, it is another injury-riddled season for the 25-year-old, who has yet to reach 100 games played in any single season. He was good when healthy, although his power numbers didn't quite match up to lofty expectations. He will be a hard player to rank going into next season, as he still has sky-high potential, but injuries and the aforementioned lack of power may hurt his value.
