4 years agoSan Diego Padres manager Jayce Tingler says it’s “on the table” that pitcher Luis Patino could enter the starting rotation. Patino was called up on Tuesday and will initially work out of the bullpen, but as one of the most talented pitching prospects in the league, he may force the Padres hand if he reaches his potential. The 20-year-old dominated High-A and Double-A in 2019 in which he recorded a 2.57 ERA with 123 strikeouts in just 94 2/3 innings. Patino has to potential be one of the best pitchers in the game, but at just age 20 he should be picked up in all formats with the understanding that owners should be patient.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
