Luis Garcia Could Climb Prospect Lists Quickly
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Luis Garcia, the team's No. 4 prospect per MLB Pipeline, won the Gulf Coast League batting title in his professional debut last year to open some eyes. The switch-hitter swings well from both sides of the plate and can add some power, can run and plays good defense. Garcia was signed for $2.5 million in July of 2017 and could climb prospect lists in 2019 if he keeps performing. He's off to a good start, but the Phillies prospect is still just 18 years old and won't turn 19 until October. He has a ways to go before he can think about making his big league debut.
