6 years agoThe New York Yankees are calling up pitcher Luis Cessa to make the start against the Rays on Wednesday in place of CC Sabathia (knee). Cessa has a 2.55 ERA through 24 2/3 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this year. He was chosen over Sonny Gray, who was recently demoted to the bullpen. Sabathia doesn't plan to be out long, though, so Cessa might find himself back in the minors soon. Cessa is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in his 24 innings of work in the major leagues, including three starts. He hasn't made a start for the Yankees since July 25 and is a weak streaming option.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
