Lourdes Gurriel To Move Around Diamond
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays shortstop Lourdes Gurriel is expected to move around the field this year instead of being limited to shortstop. Third baseman Brandon Drury might also serve in a utility role once prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is called up. Second baseman Devon Travis could also see time in the outfield when Gurriel is playing the keystone. Gurriel, 25, brings the most upside of any Toronto middle infielder, but he'll split playing time with Freddy Galvis and Travis up the middle. The Cuban hit .281/.309/.446 with 11 home runs and 35 RBI in his first 65 games in the big leagues in 2018 and is worth a late-round pick in deep mixed leagues for his upside and flexibility.
