6 years agoToronto Blue Jays infielder Lourdes Gurriel was called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday after starting pitcher Sam Gaviglio was placed on paternity leave. The young Cuban was uneven in his first big league go-around, as he only hit .206 with two homers and seven RBI. Gaviglio is allowed to remain on the paternity list for up to three days, so this could be a short stay for Gurriel, meaning he can be ignored in most leagues.--Matthew Sparrow
