Lou Trivino Closes Out Sunday's Win Over Phillies
3 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Lou Trivino came on to close out the team's victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday, securing the team's first win of the year. Trivino entered with a 4-0 lead, making the appearance a non-save situation. He allowed a solo home run to Phillies second baseman Jean Segura, but that was the only damage. In total, he pitched one inning and allowed one hit, no walks and one earned run while recording one strikeout. Trivino had been the presumed closer for the A's going into the year, but it's good to see the validation of that presumption in the team's first save-like scenario. The A's project to be one of the worst teams in the majors this year, so Trivino may not have consistent save opportunities, but he should still be rostered in any fantasy league where saves are scarce.
