Lorenzo Cain Undergoes Cryotherapy On Thumb
5 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain (thumb) was in Los Angeles on Tuesday to undergo the same cryotherapy procedure that has helped Ryan Braun in recent years. The pain in Cain's thumb was had been affecting his play and was too much to bear, according to manager Craig Counsell. It could also help explain why Cain has been disappointing for much of the season, hitting .253/.314/.357 with four home runs, 46 runs, 28 RBI and 10 stolen bases. While this is obviously concerning, it doesn't sound like Cain will need to go on the injured list and he could return later this week. Ben Gamel filled in for Cain on Tuesday and should do so until he returns.
