Logan Webb Suspended 80 Games
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for a banned substance. The fourth-round pick in 2014 had been pitching very well for Double-A Richmond, and he's listed as the team's No. 5 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old had posted a 2.00 ERA with 31 strikeouts and seven walks in 27 innings so far this season. It's a big setback in his career, but he could still be in the team's plans in the long term. Webb says that he did not take the banned substance knowingly.
