Logan O'Hoppe Blasts A Grand Slam Friday
8 months agoLos Angeles Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe hit his first home run of the year on Friday, a game-tying grand slam in the sixth inning of an eventual 8-6 loss to the Red Sox. O'Hoppe finished 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored. The 24-year-old is off to a hot start, going 9-for-20 (.450) with a double, a triple, a home run, six RBI, four runs scored, and a 3:4 BB:K. This is just what fantasy managers were hoping for when they drafted him for upside at a traditionally offensively-challenged position. Earlier this year, manager Ron Washington stated he wanted to get O'Hoppe 125-135 starts at catcher, but he could get even more if some days at DH were sprinkled in too. The youngster hit 14 home runs last season in just 51 games with a 15.6% Barrel%, so a big year could certainly be in store for him.
