Logan Gilbert Goes Seven Strong Innings In Win
1 year agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert earned the win on Friday when he allowed just one run on two hits with five strikeouts and one walk over seven innings in a 13-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Gilbert was locked in on this one, scattering just two baserunners over his first six innings. Anthony Santander tagged him for a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning but the Mariners provided more than enough run support to cover up the mistake. The 26-year-old righty has had an up-and-down campaign but this start showed his more than capable of shutting down a great offense. He'll carry a 5-4 record, 4.07 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and 89:17 K/BB ratio over 86 1/3 innings (15 starts) into a home start against the Nationals next week.
