Logan Gilbert Earns A Quality Start In No-Decision
1 year agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert took a no-decision on Wednesday when he allowed three runs on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts over six innings in a 6-3 win over the Boston Red Sox. Gilbert wasn't at his best in this one as he worked around a lot of traffic, but he did just enough to hold Boston's lineup down and keep the M's in the contest. He walked Connor Wong in the top of the third inning before serving up a two-run blast to Jarren Duran to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead. Masataka Yoshida then slapped a soft-contact infield single to J.P. Crawford that scored Wong again in the fifth frame, but that would be all Boston got off Gilbert. He's now picked up a quality start in five of his last eight turns and owns a 9-5 record, 3.86 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 126:24 K/BB over 130 2/3 innings (22 starts) on the year. He's tentatively lined up to face the Padres at home on Tuesday for his next start.
