Leonard Fournette, Dede Westbrook, Gardner Minshew Questionable
5 years agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette (neck), wide receiver Dede Westbrook (neck, shoulder) and rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew (shoulder) are all listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Colts. All three players got in practice time this week, but Fournette didn't practice the last two days. In a meaningless Week 17 contest, the Jaguars could decide to hold each of them out or limit their snaps on Sunday, which is bad news if you own them in fantasy leagues. Westbrook hasn't been of much help to begin with in the second half of the season, while Minshew's best efforts also came earlier in the season. Consider Fournette a low-end RB1 if he is active this weekend.

Leonard Fournette Visiting The Colts
6 months agoFormer Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills running back Leonard Fournette is visiting with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, according to a source. As things stand in Indy right now, Jonathan Taylor is the unquestioned starter, with Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson backing him up. Fournette signed late in the year in 2023 with the Bills and played in only two games with them, carrying the ball 12 times for 40 yards. In 2022 with the Bucs, Lenny averaged 3.5 yards per carry on the ground on his 189 attempts while running for 668 yards and three touchdowns. He added 73 receptions for 523 yards and three more scores. The 29-year-old would likely have to work his way to the active roster in Indy if he signs with the team and he could eventually become an interesting bench stash in deep PPR leagues. For now, fantasy managers in standard-sized leagues can continue to ignore him.

Leonard Fournette Motivated To Continue His Career
8 months agoFree-agent running back Leonard Fournette is motivated to continue his NFL career and intends to sign with a team before the 2024 season. Fournette has hired former agents, Ari Nissim and Pat Capra, to help in that pursuit. "Leonard's in the best shape of his career and I expect he will have a new home soon," Nissim said. It would be a surprise to see the 29-year-old veteran latch on with a team after training camp begins, but expecting Lenny to become fantasy relevant this year is a different story. His last 1,000-yard rushing campaign came back in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, although he did have over 1,000 scrimmage yards in 2021 and 2022 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fournette played in just two games with the Buffalo Bills in 2023 and had 12 carries for 40 yards. At best, Fournette will be a complementary depth option for a team's backfield in 2024.

Bills Release Leonard Fournette From Practice Squad
1 year agoThe Buffalo Bills released running back Leonard Fournette from their practice squad on Tuesday. The Bills signed Fournette for some extra RB depth late in the season, and he saw action in Weeks 16 and 18 but carried the ball just 12 times for 40 yards. With injuries mounting on the defensive side of the ball for Buffalo heading into their Divisional Round matchup this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bills will focus on adding depth elsewhere besides the RB position. James Cook will remain the team's lead back this weekend against the Chiefs, with Ty Johnson and Latavius Murray continuing to provide depth behind him. Fournette is quickly approaching the end of his career and might struggle to latch on with another team for training camp this summer.

Leonard Fournette Elevated Ahead Of Week 18
1 year agoBuffalo Bills running back Leonard Fournette has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The veteran back will play in his second game this season for the Bills. He rushed for 20 yards on five attempts during his team debut in Week 16. The expectation is that the Bills are bringing up Fournette in order to give starter James Cook a bit of a breather before the playoffs. However, fantasy managers should expect a three-back committee, so there won't be a ton of streaming value for Fournette.
