Leon Draisaitl Celebrates Birthday With Three-Point Outing
5 months agoEdmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl put together his first three-point effort of the season on Sunday, finishing a 3-2 overtime victory against Detroit with two goals and an assist. Draisaitl, who celebrated his 29th birthday on Sunday, scored Edmonton's first and last goal, adding an assist to Evan Bouchard between the two strikes. Draisaitl's dominant performance included a game-high seven shots on goal. With nine games played, Draisaitl sits on 10 points (six goals, four assists), but the 2020 Art Ross Trophy winner should still have a lot of room for improvement. He will enter Monday's juicy matchup against the Blue Jackets and their leaky defense with a six-game point streak.

Leon Draisaitl Not Ready To Return This Week
5 days agoEdmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed) is expected to remain out for this week's action. The Oilers begin a three-game slate on Wednesday against the Dallas Stars. Edmonton has already been without Draisaitl for two games as the German superstar battles an undisclosed injury. Connor McDavid (lower body) joined Draisaitl on the shelf at the weekend, making Ryan Nugent-Hopkins the team's new first-line center. The absence of the star duo also gave Adam Henrique an opportunity to work as the second-line center on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken, where he opened the scoring on a power play in an eventual 5-4 victory for the Oilers.

Leon Draisaitl Ruled Out For Saturday
1 week agoEdmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed) will remain sidelined on Saturday evening when the Oilers face the Seattle Kraken. Draisaitl was unable to suit up in their previous contest on Thursday evening with this same injury. Before Thursday's contest, head coach Kris Knoblauch noted that the team is taking a "cautious" approach. In addition, Connor McDavid (lower body) will also miss Saturday's contest and will leave the Edmonton offense shorthanded. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Draisaitl's status, as the team has yet to provide a definitive timetable. Since the start of the month (nine games), Draisaitl has tallied 13 points with five goals. While Draisaitl and McDavid remain sidelined, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Adam Henrique will operate as the top centers in the offense.
