1 year agoAnaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson failed to complete Thursday's 6-0 win over Chicago due to a lower-body injury. He left the game in the second period following a collision with Blackhawks defenseman Alex Vlasic. Carlsson was forced to exit after logging 11:38 of ice time. This was only his third game since returning to the lineup from a concussion. With a couple of previous lower-body injuries also making a mark, Carlsson has been limited to only 43 outings during his rookie campaign. He's notched nine goals with 15 assists. Carlsson's exit from the lineup could give Max Jones a new opportunity to work in the top six, though Trevor Zegras (ankle) would be his natural replacement at center. The latter is close to returning from injury.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoAnaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson (undisclosed) will likely skip Monday's contest against Vegas. He was injured in Sunday's 5-4 shootout win against Utah, leaving him questionable for Monday's action. According to Derek Lee of The Hockey News, the expectation is that Carlsson will not be able to play against the Golden Knights. If that's the case, we should see Mason McTavish take on a second-line job. McTavish is having a down year, with 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 26 games, but he made an impact in Sunday's game with an assist and the shootout winner.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoAnaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson (upper body) will return from a six-game absence on Wednesday against Ottawa. The Swedish pivot suffered an upper-body injury a couple of weeks ago just as he was enjoying a good offensive spell. Carlsson re-enters the lineup on Wednesday with five points (two goals, three assists) posted in his last seven appearances. He's on six goals and 11 points in 20 games for the season. Carlsson is expected to skate with Cutter Gauthier and Alex Killorn. Mason McTavish will play a smaller role in the Ducks attack with Carlsson back.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoAnaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson (upper body) will miss a fourth straight game on Wednesday versus Vegas. Carlsson has contributed six goals and five assists in 20 games this season. Mason McTavish is set to continue as the first-line center on Wednesday. He's yet to find his feet after returning from an upper-body injury, posting one assist in four appearances with a minus-four rating. McTavish is capable of much more, as shown by his season total of nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 17 outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoAnaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson (upper body) is considered day-to-day by the team. The 19-year-old talent was hurt on Monday versus Seattle and didn't play in Wednesday's rematch between the two teams. Mason McTavish replaced Carlsson on the first line, bagging an assist on a Trevor Zegras goal late in a 5-2 win. McTavish will have additional fantasy value until Carlsson can make it back into the lineup. The Ducks return to action on Friday afternoon against the Los Angeles Kings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
