Lance Lynn Stops Bleeding In Yankees Debut
6 years agoAfter New York Yankees starting pitcher Sonny Gray made a mess of his start against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday afternoon in the Bronx, the team called on starter Lance Lynn to make his club debut. Acquired before the trade deadline from the Minnesota Twins, the 31-year-old was brought to the club to be a reliever, which is what his job was on the day. Following up Gray’s poor outing, Lynn was actually successful, tossing 4 1/3 innings and allowing no runs. While he gave up five hits, he stranded all his baserunners, striking out five along the way. Considering his ability to start, the Yankees may finally decide to pull the trigger on moving Gray out of the rotation.
