Lance Lynn Expected To Help Yankees Right The Ship On Monday
6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Lance Lynn will be tasked with trying to get the Bombers back on track Monday against the Chicago White Sox. After being swept by the American League East-leading Boston Red Sox, the Yanks find themselves 9 1/2 games back and struggling to find consistent offense. After four games in which the Yankees bullpen worked a ton, the team hopes that the newly acquired Lynn can help them get back into the win column. In his lone appearance since donning pinstripes, Lynn worked 4 1/3 relief innings, allowing five hits, no runs, and five strikeouts. The Yankees undoubtedly are hoping for more of the same on Monday, as he will get the start against the White Sox. Lynn is 2-1 with a 2.67 in his career against the Sox. Only Wellington Castillo (suspension) has truly hurt Lynn, but he won't rejoin the team until August 24. That said, if the Yankees don't score, Lynn could be in trouble in a hitter's ballpark and against a team that has hit seven home runs in their last four games.
