Kyren Williams Could Have A Big Role Once Healthy
Kyren Williams (ankle) has been a popular waiver-wire target the past few days. The rookie running back suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He was placed on Injured Reserve after the game and was expected to miss up to six weeks with the injury. While Williams hasn't been designated to return from IR yet, it's only a matter of time. With Cam Akers likely getting traded or released soon, the rookie running back has a chance to carve out a role in the backfield behind Darrell Henderson. His abilities in the passing game could earn the rookie a consistent role once he's ready to play. However, given Henderson's injury history, Williams could have more value than just a handcuff/third-down running back.
