Kyle Wright Cleared For Throwing Program
1 year agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Kyle Wright (shoulder) has been cleared to begin a throwing program, but there remains no timetable for his return. Wright has been out since early May due to a right-shoulder strain, and he won't be back in Atlanta's starting rotation until some point in the second half of the season after the All-Star break in mid-July. The 27-year-old won a league-high 21 games last year for the Braves, but he was struggling with a 5.79 ERA (4.45 FIP), 1.77 WHIP, 10 walks and 20 strikeouts in five starts (18 2/3 innings) before his injury in 2023. There's still time for him to turn things around in the second half if he's healthy, though, so he's worth a pickup if he's available on your league's waiver wire when he gets closer to returning. Wright is currently rostered in 62% of Yahoo leagues.
