Kyle Tucker Takes A Seat On Wednesday
7 months agoHouston Astros outfielders Kyle Tucker and Chas McCormick will head to the bench on Wednesday at Minute Maid Park against the visiting Oakland Athletics. The Astros are being careful to ease Tucker back into action after he returned last Friday from a lengthy stint on the injured list due to a fractured shin that he sustained in early June. With Tucker and McCormick both out, Ben Gamel is starting in right field and batting seventh, while Mauricio Dubon draws into left field and is hitting ninth against A's right-hander Joey Estes. Tucker is one of the best all-around hitters in baseball, but he has struggled at the plate in his three games back, picking up only one hit in 10 at-bats with an RBI, two walks and four strikeouts over the weekend. So far, the 27-year-old has only served as a designated hitter and has yet to start in right field.

Kyle Tucker Homers In Third Straight Game
24 hours agoChicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker kept on rolling as the Cubs traveled from Phoenix to Sacramento to continue their season-opening road trip. Tucker went 4-for-7 with a pair of doubles, a home run, four runs scored, and three RBI in the Cubs' 18-run outburst against the Athletics. Time will tell if this big game indicates that Sutter Health Park will be a very hitter-friendly or if it was just that the Cubs had a great matchup against Joey Estes and the Athletics' bullpen. Either way, Tucker is off to a great start with the Cubs, with three home runs in his last three games. He has gone 10-for-31 overall this season, giving him a .323 batting average and .473 wOBA in the early going, backed up by an impressive 26.9% barrel rate, per StatCast.

Kyle Tucker Launches First Long Ball As A Cub
3 days agoChicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker went 3-for-4 with a home run during their 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday evening. After tallying just two hits across his first four games of the season, the 28-year-old broke out of his slump in a big way. In the opening frame, he would hit a ground-rule double. In the third inning, he would hit a single on a soft ground ball. Then in the fifth, Tucker would hit a home run to right field, which also scored infielder Jon Berti. In the offseason, the Cubs acquired Tucker in a blockbuster trade that sent top prospect Cam Smith, infielder Isaac Paredes, and right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski to the Houston Astros. Tucker remains a must-start option in all formats and a top play in DFS in all matchups. He will look to stay hot on Sunday, facing Arizona left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez.

Kyle Tucker Goes Hitless In Monday Tokyo Series Opener
2 weeks agoChicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker did not have his first regular-season game with his new team go as planned. Batting third, the 28-year-old went 0-for-4 in the Tokyo Series Game 1 4-1 loss to the Dodgers. Tucker's poor start with the Cubs started before Monday, as he was slashing just .043/.233/.174 in 30 spring plate appearances. Fantasy managers should not put too much emphasis on numbers from such a small sample size, particularly for players with Tucker's track record. He has proven to be a five-category, first-round caliber player throughout his career. Despite missing a good chunk of the 2024 season with a shin injury, Tucker slashed .289/.408/.585 with 23 home runs, 56 runs scored, 49 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 339 plate appearances. Fantasy managers still to draft should not shy away from Tucker as a top-tier fantasy pick.

Kyle Tucker Hits First Cactus League Home Run
3 weeks agoChicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker finally collected his first hit of the spring season on Sunday, a solo home run in the third inning of an 8-6 Cactus League loss to the Giants. The left-handed hitter flied out in his only other at-bat during the contest. That brings his spring batting average to .048, now 1-for-21 with five walks and seven strikeouts. No need to panic, and it should not depress his outlook for the season, but managers who already drafted or were considering drafting the 3x All-Star would love to see him get on a roll as we head towards Opening Day. ATC projections foresee a 30/20 season for the 28-year-old, and he's worthy of a top 10 fantasy draft pick.
