Kyle Tucker Drives In Game-Winning Run On Thursday
3 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker had the biggest hit of the day in the team's 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. With a pair of runners on base in the ninth inning of a 2-2 game, Tucker singled to center field and Chas McCormick ran home to score the game-winning run. The ninth inning single was Tucker's only hit of the game as he went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout. The 25-year-old slashed just .224/.277/.408 across the month of April, but he strung together a set of four-straight multi-hit games while the calendar was turning to May. Tucker has some gaudy underlying stats, such as a .325 xBA and a .625 xSLG, so the slugger has been a bit unlucky so far this year. Expect to see some better surface numbers ahead.
