Kyle Stanley is Unable to Defend His Title
6 years agoKyle Stanley shot a disappointing three-under par at the Quicken Loans National, good for a T32 showing. Stanley had some moments of brilliance during his title defense, which included Friday and Saturday rounds of 67 and 66, respectively, but his opening and closing rounds left a lot to be desired. Stanley opened the tournament with a piddling one-over 71 on Thursday and closed the show with a faulty three-over 73. Most of Stanley's issues stemmed from his approach game, where he lost a shocking 4.175 strokes to the field. Stanley, who is often credited for his elite ball-striking skills, was anything but top notch at TPC Potomac. He is not in this week's Greenbrier field.
